What is a firefighter?
He's the guy next door....
He's a guy like you and me with warts and worries and unfulfilled dreams.
Yet he stands taller than most of us.
He's a fireman....
A fireman is at once the most fortunate and the least fortunate of men.
He's a man who saves lives because he has seen too much death.
He's a gentle man because he has seen the awesome power of violence out of control.
He's responsive to a child's laughter because his arms have held too many small bodies that will never laugh again....
He doesn't preach the brotherhood of man.
He lives it.

departments wishing to participate in the ESMS program, we need to have the
name, email address and phone number of the person handling the authorizations
for your department. Please use the Contact Us page to leave us that
information. The sooner we have it the sooner we can get to work towards getting
you signed up. As of 3/2 we have heard from stations:
Station 51, Station 59,
Station 66
To begin the process of signing up for the
service, on the bottom left of this page click on "Login/Register". Once you
successfully create your account, you will be sent to a page where you'll click
on "E-SMS". It's on that page where you will choose the department for which you
want to receive CAD messages for.

on-line from the NC OSFM. If you do not wish to have your email or phone number
listed here, please let us know.

fire service. For those of you who have been considering becoming a firefighter,
you will find helpful information in the Recruiting section. Anyone desiring to
join the Ladies Auxiliary can find information on here as well.
You can signup for free smoke detectors (Tar Heel district only) and email
notification of upcoming events. And firefighters can also check on classes
being held at the station. |
