ON-LINE BURNING PERMIT APPLICATIONS INSTRUCTIONS

Note:  You must have email to use this service.

A link to the North Carolina Forest Service On-Line Burning Permit Application has been placed at the bottom of this page.  Please read through this page before beginning your Application process.
Note:  A request for a Burning Permit can be denied if current environmental and weather conditions make outdoor burning too hazardous.  The Forest Service monitors these conditions and issues an intensity level called Readiness Plans.

After clicking the link below, you will be given the opportunity to review the rules and regulations of outdoor burning.  This is same information provided on the previous page.  If you have read this information, on the "Please chose a county" drop down box, select Bladen County and then click the Go! button.  Read the complete page and then fill in the boxes with the proper information including an email address.  You must click the check box at the bottom to acknowledge that you agree and understand all the requirements and then select the Submit button.  You will receive an email at the email address you provided either approving or denying your request for a burn permit.  If approved it would be a good idea to print this email and have it on your person during the burning as proof than a permit was obtained.

When you have your Burning Permit in hand, there is one more step needed before you begin your controlled burn.  Contact Bladen County Central Communications.  Central Communications is the 911 Emergency Dispatch Center for all Bladen County Law Enforcement, Fire Departments and Emergency Medical Services.  DO NOT CALL 911.  You must contact Central Communications via their non-emergency number (910) 862-6048 and advise them that you have a Burning Permit and you will be performing a Controlled Burn.  This will insure that the Fire Department and the Forest Service are not Dispatched in the event that a neighbor or passing motorist reports the fire by 911.

It would be a good idea to have a phone available close by in the event that your Controlled Burn gets out of control.  If you can no longer control the spread of the fire, Call 911 and ask for your Fire Department's assistance.  Thats what we are here for.
